How do you expect to accomplish anything if you cant sit and do nothing for an hour? Meditation has been a great factor in my small success. I was put onto it by a Joe Rogan guest that went to India or some country to a meditation retreat that did not allow any form of communication (phone, writing, etc.) After the first full day of meditation the guest cried all night. That pretty much made me realize how paralyzed I was by social media and started meditating. It’s a fairly hard thing at first but if you cant sit down with yourself how do expect to sit down with other people. It is a great way to flesh out ideas and just turn your brain off. I wish I could do longer sessions than 15 minutes but I am out of practice. When I first started less than four years ago I had a lot of anxiety and a small breathing exercise for minutes everyday really calmed me down. I guess restricting you breathing makes you focus on surviving rather than your small day to day problems. It has been a great reset point for me when things get out of hand. I recommend it to everyone. A guided meditation or even Yoga when they have a 10 minute rest down will do wonders. Even though I think paying for Yoga is a scam the cool down mediation after is a great way to start your day! This isn’t laying down on your bed and just thinking, this is actively sitting your butt and trying not to think. Its harder than you think but the benefits will become apparent the more you do it, as with most things that are supposed to be good for you!
