Cars that turn off when stopped.

Ive noticed cars ignitions turning over when lights turn green. Were people just turning their car off at stop lights? That seems stupid because doesn’t that wreck the engine or ignition? I don’t know im not a car guy. I asked my sister what it was one day and she responded saying that it was new feature that did it automatically. What possibly could be the benefit of that? Sure I can google it and what not but I’m not going to. Is it some solution to stop pollution? Car turns of so no gas emission? I cant believe that. What if your battery is about to die? Good luck turning you car back on at this busy intersection!

Okay let me look it up now.

I guess the reasons I stated were correct and it saves anywhere from 3% to 12% on fuel. Its in electric cars as well so that makes a little more sense and if you don’t like the feature you can turn it off. This feature seems it would be beneficial in big cities were you can basically rent a house on the side of the road with how bad traffic is. The article did not mention my concern about the battery but what do I know about cars?
